- What is the difference between an upgrade and an update?
An upgrade is a major change in a product denoted by a new version number (e.g. version 2 to LonghornMax 2006). The LonghornMax version 2006 upgrade for customers of version 1 and version 2 is $150.
An update is a maintenance release made available within the same version (e.g. 2.0.2000 to 2.1.2100). Updates are available at no charge from our Web site or can be requested on CD.
- How many computers can I use LonghornMax 2006 on?
LonghornMax 2006 includes a license for one computer. Additional computers for the same operation are $50 per computer. Licenses that were purchased with version 1 or 2 will be transferred to version 2006.
- Can I try out LonghornMax 2006 before deciding to upgrade?
You can download the LonghornMax 2006 trial version or request a trial CD and evaluate LonghornMax 2006 for 30 days. However, only customers who have purchased the upgrade can convert their LonghornMax version 1 or version 2 records to LonghornMax version 2006.
- How does the upgrade process work?
When you purchase LonghornMax 2006 and run it for the first time, you will have the option to import a LonghornMax version 1 or version 2 file. Your LonghornMax version 1 or version 2 file will be converted to LonghornMax version 2006 format and you can begin working with your records. NOTE: When a file has been converted to LonghornMax 2006, it can no longer be accessed in LonghornMax version 1 or version 2.
